Websites and links we’ve found useful that are from trustworthy ministries. We don’t agree with every one of them on every point, but each one handles Scripture with care.
If someone is in danger right now, skip this page. Call or text 988, or go to Get Help.
My home church

Living Water Baptist Church
This is my home church. If you live in the Grand Valley and you're looking for a church, come visit on a Sunday. Want to know what you're walking into? Listen to a few sermons first.
Bible and books

Legacy Standard Bible
Every verse on this site is LSB. It's a word-for-word translation, and it renders God's covenant name as Yahweh instead of LORD. You can read it free online.

Logos Bible Software
The study tool we use and teach. Your whole library is tied to the text, so one verse pulls up every commentary, lexicon, and sermon you own on it. New to it? Start with our Logos section.

Chapel Library
Spurgeon, Ryle, Lloyd-Jones, the Puritans. Ebooks and audiobooks are always free, and they mail printed copies too. Hard to beat for someone who wants to grow and can't spend a dime.

Banner of Truth
The publisher that brought the Puritans back into print. The Puritan Paperbacks are short, solid, and better than most of what's on the shelf at the Christian bookstore.
Reformation Heritage Books
Joel Beeke started this publisher in 1994, and it has built a whole catalog of Puritan and Reformed books. Meet the Puritans is a good map if you don't know where to start.

Westminster Books
A ministry of Westminster Theological Seminary. They hand-pick what they carry, which saves you wading through the junk. Commentaries, systematic theologies, and study Bibles.

Christianbook
Huge selection and low prices on Bibles and books. They sell everything, good and bad, so know the author before you buy.
Sermons and teaching

Grace to You
John MacArthur preached verse by verse through the whole New Testament, and the sermons are free here. When you want to know what a passage actually says, this is a good first stop.

Ligonier Ministries
R.C. Sproul's teaching series, articles, and Tabletalk magazine. If The Holiness of God on our book list hit you hard, watch the teaching series of the same name next.

HeartCry Missionary Society
HeartCry supports indigenous missionaries preaching the gospel in their own countries. Paul Washer's sermons are blunt about sin and clear about grace. Not comfortable listening… that's the point.
MLJ Trust
The sermon library of Martyn Lloyd-Jones, a medical doctor who left medicine to preach at Westminster Chapel in London for almost 30 years. His series on Spiritual Depression should be in every volunteer's ears.

SermonAudio
The biggest sermon library online. Anyone with a pulpit can upload, so check the church before you trust the preacher. Used well, it's a gold mine.

Fortis Institute
Todd Friel, Greg Gifford, Tim Challies, and others, on radio, podcasts, books, and curriculum. Their biblical counseling resources go straight at anxiety and depression with the Word. Good teaching for the volunteer who wants to be ready.
Doctrine and the church

Founders Ministries
Founders works for the recovery of the gospel and the reformation of local churches. They publish the 1689 Baptist Confession in modern English. If you want to know what Baptists have confessed for more than 300 years, read it.

9Marks Church Search
A map of churches that care about biblical preaching, the gospel, membership, and discipline. 9Marks says plainly that a listing is not an endorsement, so visit, listen, and ask questions before you send someone there.

The Master's Seminary Church Finder
A worldwide map of churches where a pastor, elder, or other leader trained at The Master's Seminary. Same rule as 9Marks: visit, listen, and ask questions before you send someone there.
Sharing the gospel

Living Waters
The practical side of The Way of the Master from our book list. Tracts, training, and real street conversations you can watch and learn from. Use it alongside our Sharing the Gospel page.
Counseling
Association of Certified Biblical Counselors
When someone needs more than a friend standing watch, this is where we look for a certified biblical counselor near them. It's not a crisis line. If someone is in danger, that's 988 or 911 first.
