At Monumental Grace, we believe the gospel must be proclaimed with truth, clarity, reverence, and courage. In accordance with the Monumental Grace General Orders, this document serves as a governed and practical application of our calling to guard the gospel, speak faithfully, and warn rightly as watchmen entrusted with eternal truth.

The gospel is not a self-help message or an emotional appeal—it is the holy announcement of what God has done in Jesus Christ to save sinners. Therefore, how we proclaim it matters.

1. Establish God’s Holiness Through His Law

In obedience to the General Orders, which call us to uphold God’s holiness without dilution or apology

Scripture teaches that “through the law comes knowledge of sin” (Romans 3:20). Before grace can be rightly understood, the sinner must first see the holiness of God and the seriousness of sin.

We lovingly use the Ten Commandments as a mirror to reveal the human heart:

  • Have you ever lied?
  • Have you ever stolen anything, no matter how small?
  • Have you ever used God’s name in vain?
  • Jesus taught that lust is adultery of the heart—have you ever lusted?

These questions are not accusations; they are diagnostics. They fulfill the General Orders’ mandate to speak truthfully about sin, righteousness, and judgment while relying on God’s Word rather than human opinion.

2. Appeal to the God-Given Conscience

In keeping with the General Orders’ emphasis on truth over argument

Rather than debating philosophies or defending ourselves rhetorically, we rely on the conscience God has placed within every person. The role of the evangelist is not to prosecute, but to bear witness to the truth.

A key question is:

“If God were to judge you by His law on the Day of Judgment, would you be innocent or guilty?”

This question brings eternal realities into focus—accountability, justice, and judgment—aligning with the General Orders’ call to speak soberly and clearly about eternity.

3. Proclaim the Gospel With Gravity and Hope

As required by the General Orders to present Christ faithfully and completely

Once the law has done its work, the gospel shines with its full weight and beauty.

We proclaim:

  • God is holy, just, and righteous.
  • Humanity has broken God’s law and stands guilty.
  • Jesus Christ lived a sinless life, fulfilling the law perfectly.
  • Jesus died on the cross, bearing the punishment sinners deserve.
  • Jesus rose from the dead, conquering sin and death.
  • Salvation is a gift of grace, received through repentance and faith—not by works.

In alignment with the Monumental Grace General Orders, grace is never presented as permission to continue in sin, but as God’s power to forgive, rescue, and transform.

4. Call for a Biblical and Lasting Response

In obedience to the General Orders’ rejection of manipulation and false assurance

The proper response to the gospel is not a rushed decision or emotional display, but a repentant and believing heart.

Biblical conversion includes:

  • Repentance — turning from sin and self-rule
  • Faith — trusting wholly in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior

In keeping with the General Orders, we reject emotional pressure, formulaic prayers, or premature assurances of salvation. We encourage honest self-examination, prayerful reflection, and obedience to Christ, trusting the Holy Spirit to produce genuine and lasting fruit.

5. Speak as Faithful Watchmen

As explicitly charged by the Monumental Grace General Orders

Those who share the gospel do so not as volunteers offering opinions, but as watchmen entrusted with warning, truth, and hope. We speak with love, boldness, humility, and urgency—neither softening the truth nor delighting in confrontation.

At Monumental Grace, evangelism is understood as an act of obedience, compassion, and reverence before God.

Summary and Commissioning

The Monumental Grace pattern for sharing the gospel is:

Law → Conscience → Grace → Repentance and Faith

When the law does its work, the cross makes sense, and the gospel is revealed as the power of God unto salvation.

This approach to gospel proclamation stands under the authority of the Monumental Grace General Orders. It reflects our shared commitment to proclaim Christ faithfully, warn lovingly, and trust God with the results—so that God is glorified and sinners are truly called to life.
